Nigeria can only become better when Nigerians choose to build it together.
We must move beyond the pursuit of individual, sectional, ethnic, religious, or political self-interest and recognise that our greatest strength lies in what we can achieve as one people. No individual, community, region, or group can truly prosper while others are left behind.
The future of Nigeria cannot be built by a few acting for themselves. It must be built by all of us, acting with a shared sense of responsibility and a commitment to the common good. We must ask not only, “What is in this for me?” but also, “What is in this for us?”
Our differences should not divide our purpose. They should contribute to the strength and richness of the nation we share. Every Nigerian deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, security, justice, and hope – regardless of where they come from, what they believe, or which group they belong to.
Nigeria will become better when we understand that our individual interests are inseparable from the wellbeing of the whole. When we work together, look beyond ourselves, and put the common good before narrow self-interest, we do not diminish ourselves – we build a country in which all of us can thrive.
The Nigeria we want cannot be built by “me” and “mine”. It can only be built by “us” and “ours”.
