Unpopular only to those who don’t want to see it but we haven’t reached AGI yet.

AGI stands for Artificial General Intelligence, meaning human-level general intelligence across multiple domains.

The real con being pulled by today’s AI companies is the refusal to clearly define, and collectively agree on, what actually constitutes AGI.

Keep the definition vague, and you can keep moving the goalposts. That way, almost any sufficiently capable AI system can be presented as having “achieved AGI.”

If the finish line isn’t defined, anyone can claim they’ve crossed it.
