The BBC is under constant attack, and it’s not hard to see why.
It remains the most trusted media organisation in Britain, perhaps even in the world. It is one of the very few major outlets that is not, and cannot be, controlled by a single person, corporation, or political group, no matter how much money or power they have.
Unlike privately owned media, the BBC is accountable to the public who fund it. That’s what makes it unique, and dangerous to those who want to dominate the public narrative.
Meanwhile, much of the media landscape is concentrated in the hands of a few powerful individuals who use their platforms to shape opinion, set political agendas, and protect their own interests.
These same forces want the BBC weakened or dismantled. They use politicians, partisan commentators, and friendly media voices to chip away at its credibility because an independent BBC limits their influence.
Make no mistake: these attacks won’t stop until the BBC is either destroyed or captured.
We must wake up to this and defend our public broadcaster. Once it’s gone, it won’t come back, and neither will a truly independent source of news in this country.
Protect your BBC. It belongs to you, not them.
