This Times column written by Fraser Nelson is interesting.

The column argues that Britain’s main political parties lack serious, coherent ideas, and that this intellectual vacuum is weakening the entire political system.

I believe the thinkers, sadly, have been replaced by engagement farmers.

Serious ideas, long-term thinking, and intellectual groundwork have given way to soundbites, outrage cycles, and algorithm-chasing. Politics is no longer about shaping the future – it’s about maximising clicks, reactions, and short-term attention.

Where are the thinkers?
