China is rapidly developing its own competitive semiconductor industry after the United States once again weaponised access to critical technology. We have seen this playbook before. When the U.S. barred American companies, including Google, from doing business with Huawei, China responded by building a fully functional Android ecosystem independent of Google.
The lesson is clear. China, and increasingly, any country, can no longer rely on the United States as a neutral or dependable technology partner. When access can be revoked at will, dependence becomes a liability. The global response will inevitably be diversification and self-reliance, not loyalty.
Fun fact: Donald Trump is not Making America Great Again (#MAGA). What a shame.
