Donald Trump’s latest tariff threat against European countries supporting Greenland should serve as a long-overdue wake-up call to Europeans.

Europe’s leaders should do what they should have done years ago: build true independence from the US in trade, defence, and technology.

Europe must stand together as one if it wants to compete with major global powers such as China, the USA, Brazil, India, and Russia.

This moment should be the turning point. Unfortunately, I fear that many of today’s European leaders lack the resolve and vision needed to truly break away from America.
