Social media platforms and AI-driven applications rely heavily on recommendation algorithms to maximise user engagement.
A simple and effective step would be for platforms to disable these recommendation algorithms by default, while still giving users the option to turn them on if they choose.
For instance, users should be able to select a setting that allows them to see only content posted by people they follow in their feed.
