Listed below are the skills that I consider are essential for the future because they are critical to meeting the demands of a rapidly changing and complex world:
- Creativity: As automation and artificial intelligence take over more routine tasks, creativity will become an even more valuable skill. Creativity is essential for generating new ideas, solving problems, and developing innovative solutions.
- Emotional intelligence: With the rise of remote work and global teams, emotional intelligence is essential for building strong relationships, understanding and managing emotions, and resolving conflicts.
- Analytical/critical thinking: The ability to analyze data, think critically, and make informed decisions will be essential for success in the future.
- Embracing change: The pace of change in the world is accelerating, and those who can adapt and embrace change will be more successful.
- Interdisciplinary knowledge: Many of the challenges we face in the future will require interdisciplinary solutions. Being able to draw on knowledge and skills from multiple disciplines will be important.
- People and relationship: People skills such as communication, empathy, and collaboration will be essential for building strong relationships and working effectively with others.
- Mental elasticity and complex problem solving: The ability to navigate complex problems and find creative solutions will be increasingly important in the future.
- Persuading and influencing: As the world becomes more complex and interconnected, the ability to persuade and influence others will be critical for success.
- Judgment and decision making: Making informed decisions based on data and analysis will be essential for success in the future.
